While innovation has been part of Mayo Clinic throughout its 125 year history, the organization raised it to a new level in June 2008 with the launch of the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation. The leadership of the new Center for Innovation worked with Doblin Inc. to develop an innovation strategy and supportive organizational structure.
The Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation’s embedded design studio builds their work and research around the needs of the patient, and uses principles of design thinking and a structured methodology created together with Doblin. Larry Keeley currently serves on the External Advisory council of the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation. (see overview)
