Last week, Larry visited our colleagues at the Deloitte Digital NYC studio to take part in the diversity initiative DDxXX: Educate, Advance, and Recruit Women in Tech.

During the lunchtime conversation, he presented “Odd, Ornery & Badly Behaved...Why diverse teams build the best breakthroughs." Larry highlighted Doblin's history with cultural anthropology and the wide ranging, diverse, female heroes he looks to for inspiration. In his presentation he showcased how women in leadership positions are reshaping organizations, ranging from an upstart group in an African village to c-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies.

The takeaway? It's critical to leverage the interesting and distinctive points of view in order to thrive, especially in innovation. Embracing contrarian thinking helps avoid group think and breaks free of conventional wisdom.
