Client Leadership, Design, Insights

Chicago

I am an Innovation Program Leader at Doblin, where I lead teams and senior clients in applying design methodology to frame and solve complex challenges. I combine deep experience in user-centered research with design-centered strategies, working closely with organizations to help them think about and solve for their business challenges in ways that address an ever-increasing pace of change. I also currently serve as Doblin's Design Capability Lead, shepherding design initiatives and the growth of the design practice.

Since joining Doblin in 2009, I have worked across a diverse set of clients primarily in financial services, healthcare industries, and educational and foundation spheres, with a specialization in customer experience and Behavioral Design applied to developing innovation concepts and building more innovative organizations. Prior to work in innovation, I spent 12 years in the e-learning industry serving as Design Director on digital learning projects for corporate, educational, and civic institutions.

I am also an adjunct faculty member at IIT’s Institute of Design, where I teach Masters-level courses in behavioral economics, semiotics and communication theory + design. I received a BA in Semiotics from Brown University and a Masters of Design at the Institute of Design/IIT.

Education

BA in Semiotics – Brown University; MDes in Design Strategy – Institute of Design, IIT

What Inspires Me

Long walks, Roger Federer’s backhand, David Foster Wallace’s way with words, a well-crafted three-minute pop song, and really good, hoppy IPAs.
