Service Designer


What we are looking for

The German Doblin team is looking for a skilled and experienced Designer to join our growing team in Hamburg, Germany.

As a Designer with Doblin you will become an active member of multidisciplinary project teams working across industries at the forefront of innovation. You will work closely with developers, data scientists, and clients to understand their challenges and produce design solutions and develop digital and analogue solutions tailored around immediate and latent user needs.

It is this understanding of behaviour that generates and informs great design; our designers bring innovative solutions to clients’ challenges, and translate ambiguous business challenges into actionable design solutions.

About your role

• Support client engagement and internal teams in the exploratory development and iterative processes.

• Support business development and proposals for new client work

• Contribute to internal research and development projects

• Translate business requirements and user research into functional design assets

• Define visual direction for of new offerings and businesses

• Create compelling user stories that breathe life into key insights and inform design

• Represent the design discipline and its value to non-designers internally and at client organizations

What you should bring

• Agency or industry experience conducting user / market research, facilitating user experience efforts, or creating user interfaces.

• A portfolio demonstrating successful execution of UI/UX design, data visualizations, or graphic facilitation across devices, comprehensive understanding of design principles across platforms / disciplines.

• Ability to transform research observations into critical insights and actionable recommendations

• Interest in collaborating and working on multidisciplinary teams with designers and non-designers

• Comfort with ambiguity and experimentation, and the ability to quickly dive into a new domains

• Strong planning, organization and documentation skills

• Motivated, self-starting attitude and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Basic Requirements

• Graduate degree in a relevant field (graphic design, multimedia design or comparable)

• Knowledge of the processes and tools of user centered research

• Technical skills in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Invision, Power Point, skill in other tools for rapid prototyping solutions is a plus

• A passion for and expertise in the innovation process and the role that both strategic and formal design can play in the process

• Compelling written and spoken communication in German and English

• Interest in travel at least 50%
